Lately I have fallen in love with apistos. But I'm not 100% sure one which one to get.

I need one that will disturb a planted tank. I have several tanks and my foreground is UG, HC, microsword, and eriocaulon austraian red.

I love keeping shrimp. And I fear it may eat my CRS or my blue tigers so I need one that is also invert friendly. I also have boraras so they must not eat little fishes as well.

And the last thing I like in and ideal apisto is color. Something colorful.

So far I like the apistogramma cacatuoides triple red. But can you give me a few more suggestions? I appericate any feed back.

Thanks

A. borelli might be a better choice if you want to decrease the chances of losing a small shrimp or fish to predation. borellis are smaller and the males dont have the massive mouth gape.

Hi all,
I kept A. borellii in a very small tank dithered with cherry shrimps, they were eaten, but managed to survive OK with A.borellii as a colony.

I was going to try them as dithers with all my fish, but eventually I over-estimated their abilities, and I made the mistake of moving them in with Apistogramma cacatuoides, and they were all fish food by the evening.
