does anyone know of a good site (sites) where I might find pictures of teleocichla species? i've noticed a few people on here mention them, and I'm wondering if there are any pictures out there to show me what all the interest is about.

Cameron...I know Vinny Kutty has a few pictures there. His site is mostly dedicated to Pike cichlids (Crenicichla) but he is adding others. the link is:

Neil has a picture of one in the gallery section on this site. I'll look around for more.

I have worked with a few pairs but never had even eggs. They are nasty little buggers even towards each other. One usually ends up killing the other. I would try them in nothing less than a 30-breeder. They more or less look like small pikes but never go very far off the bottom of the tank. Thay ain't cheap either!
Cameron,
There might be some pics of teleos on http://www.belowwater.com/ I know Oliver offers teleocichla on occation. If not the are a bunch of other very cool pics to look at. Neil
