I have only seen Mardel and Jungle in fish stores. Online shops seem to favor Jungle. Are they the most accurate test strips out there?

No. There are several pH test strip brands that can be bought from scientific supplies dealers that are more accurate & much cheaper. The least expensive way to go, in the long run, is an electronic pH meter.

Okay, well can you please let me know which test strip brands you are referring to? I would appreciate it.

My LFS has an blue oval shaped package of test strips, not Mardel or Jungle, and claims they are much, much better than any others. Not sure the brand, but he charges $30 for 24 tests. That is just a rediculous price, in my opinion.

So, that is what prompted this post.

mike i use esha test strips , not because i think they are the most accurate but because they give pH gH kH nitrate and nitrite all on one stick in about a minute

if you get something like this each stick acan be cut lengthwise into 2 , or even into 3 if you are really frugal

why not use the liquid tests. With liquid tests you get all the excitment of chemistry combined with the fun and frivolity of counting drops, shaking bottles, timeing the reaction, more shaking, more counting, waiting...waiting...Oh, never mind, guess I answered my own question.
